An Event To Remember cont.

Here are a few more pictures that wouldn't fit in the last post. I realize it seems as though I am now going to bombard you all with hords of pictures from my wedding until you have to beg me to stop, but really I won't over do it and post all ninety-one that we actually have in our album. However, for the Divas I add this note that once my parent's have had a chance to look at their album you are more than welcome to badger them to let you look at it too.

Aren't my flower girls adorable ... and the ring bearer was such a charmer!! I was worried about having kids in the wedding for their unpredictable nature, but they all did such a wonderful job! And were just so sweet. I felt like the most popular girl on the block because they kept wanting to be around me and hugging me! They wrote me the sweetest notes saying that I was a beautiful bride and that they loved me ... it was very touching!

I always knew that I would cry at my wedding ... it was inevitable really, and sure enough we barely got half-way down the aisle when I started sobbing ... naturally, these are tears of joy! I LOVE this picture of Chris!! He looks amazing! He just looked so handsome that day that when I saw him at the end of the aisle waiting for me my heart literally skipped a beat! *Sigh* I am so in love with my husband!!
And isn't this a wonderful family portrait!!! I love it!! My parents and Chris' parents. I think that everyone looked so beautiful that day!

An Event To Remember

So there are pictures, at last, from the "wedding of the year" ... this of course being because it was my wedding and therefore in my life it placed a little higher than most other people's weddings :) I have been recieving many an anxious email and phone call about these pictures. Sometimes it reminds me of friends of mine who have children and all anyone ever wants from them is to see pictures of their kids ... the parent no longer exists just the kids. Only fair I suppose, the kids are usually cutier ... just kidding!! Well anyways so I even doubt most of you have taken the time to read this far before skipping ahead to see the long awaited pictures that prove to all my friends in Canada, who were unable to attend, that I did in fact get married and didn't just make up some elaborate scheme to run off to Texas and .... ya no, there is no logical reason why I would otherwise just run off to Texas. So here you are. Enjoy. I personally think we made a beautiful couple! And it was a very special day!

Being Romanced

37 Days!! I have been married for 37 whole days now. It is not a significant number or anything, it doesn't mark anything greatly important like a month, a year, ten years, but there it is. It is a good number nevertheless, because when I woke up this morning and looked over at my husband I couldn't help but smile and feel content.

It is a good feeling, being married. Or maybe more than that, it is good feeling knowing you feel so close to someone, knowing that they get you and that you can tell them anything. And that with them you feel more like yourself than you ever thought you could with someone. *Sigh*

Sure I am a huge romantic, hopeless some might say. And I'd much rather prefer to paint a romantic picture of things as opposed to sarcastic cynicism and so in my ramblings it will, no doubt, become quickly obvious that I have a flair for making little gestures and small things epic and sentimental where another might have chosen to poke fun, but then that is why this blog is called Romancing The Ordinary. Because I believe that there can be something beautiful and inspiring in even the smallest things, and why not. In a world filled with so much biting sarcasm shouldn't there be some romance and beauty found in the things that make us happy? I love being romanced by life!! It can be something as simple as enjoying a delicious cup of hot chocolate on a cold day!

And so, in the last few weeks I have been finding myself being romanced by a host of life's little treasures: my husband, a beautiful cd I have recenty come across called ... "A Celtic Tale" , the latest Harry Potter book, my rediscovered passion for black and white photography, warmly scented perfumes, cooking gourmet meals, organic supermarkets and getting ready for fall! A fine line up if you ask me!

Ah ha ... so here I am

And so I have finally found a good place to blog ... by this I mean, of course, that some of my closest friends have blogs here too and so it seems like an ideal place to blog too! So I suppose I should first apologize to Franny for picking the same template as her but really darling it was the nicest one! This is not to discount the choices of any other bloggers but to me this is a really nice and inviting looking template. A perfect place to want to write all sorts of crazy things that come to mind ... it looks as inviting as a beautiful new journal with a soft leather cover and nice antique looking pages on the inside. Oooo ... I am excited already!

So ... in the future you will find me here writing all sorts of nonsense and probably a few rants here and there. For now though it is late and I still want to squeeze a few pages of Harry Potter before bedtime! Oh, the curse of a good book ... gotta love it!
